Welcome to Merchant Street! - Megan Marchese

As we head into a new summer (hopefully filled with fun and sun) we at Live In Joy would like to welcome you back to the neighborhood!  Merchant Street may have changed a bit since you last walked its path.  Some businesses have moved, some have closed, and some new faces have joined us. 

 In February we were introduced to LesbiVeggies, a vegan bistro with gourmet level options.  The consensus at the studio is, though all of the food is delicious, the zucchini fritters are a dangerous level of good!  

Across the street from the studio, we also welcomed El Pueblito, a produce market that also serves family recipe Mexican food, though on any given day the menu could boast anywhere from a meatloaf special, to hot wings, to chicken noodle soup as a new menu is posted daily.  Included in their daily menu are tacos, of which the chipotle chicken version is a perfect blend of spices and spiciness.  The site of El Pueblito may be familiar, as it is the previous site of Angelo’s Pizza.  Not to fear, Angelo’s is still in business and has not gone far!  They made the long trip three businesses down the street into what had been Renee’s Flowers.  After months of renovation Angelo’s opened in its lovely new setting, with indoor seating and some outdoor seating in the shade as well, where they have also installed outdoor speakers, so you can sit, relax, and enjoy your food while listening to some music.  

We were sad to see Tina and Randy close-up shop at The Treehouse Coffee Shop.  It was a regular go-to for those coming to the studio for training, also for those after class who weren’t quite ready to part from each other’s company.  Just a few short months after closing, news came out that we will again be having a coffee shop next door!  The Brown Dog Café, with owners Kate and John, are hoping to be open in July.  So, in a few short weeks, you’ll once again be able to stop off for a coffee, tea, or tasty treat.  Join us in welcoming all these amazing businesses to Merchant Street! 

Live In Joy has been here through it all, providing classes online when needed, and then slowly opening its doors for in person classes.  We want to ensure that whatever comfort level you are at, we honor it by continuing to provide a variety of classes that you are able to join in how you’d prefer.  New classes, workshops, and trainings are being introduced throughout the summer, check them out on our website, or come into the studio and chat with one of our amazing teachers.  Thank you, Merchant Street, for being our home for so many years.  We look forward to another fabulous summer with you!
